Bird crept from his alliance's den quietly, being sure not to awake anyone. Out of the hollow tree, the tom felt breezes rippling in his fur, sending shivers down his spine. The hunting grounds lay ahead. The scent of prey almost sent him sprinting, crazed, into the nearest clearing. But he managed to hold back a flood of saliva, and, seeing a rabbit, crouched. Just then, a pawstep sounded behind him. "Who is it?" he whispered, gaze still fixed on the potential prey.

[ [ Meh, bored, so I might as well post in this thread. ] ] [teal]Flood stirred in her nest as a slight sound roused her from her sleep. Opening one eye, she could just make out a figure, but her vision was blurred from sleep. Shaking herself, Flood got up and noticed it was the same kind cat that had given her the vole earlier; Bird. She followed him into the hunting ground, filled with curiosity. Hearing his whisper, Flood knew he sensed her. [white]"Uh, it's me. Sorry if I am disturbing you, I can leave if you want me too."[/white] Flood meowed, feeling slightly embarassed. [/teal]

"It's fine. Just... be quiet for a second," he mewed. Leaping, he landed directly on the rabbit, snapped its neck, and picked it up. "There we go," he mewed, voice muffled with rabbit fur. "Now, what are you doing out here?"

[teal]Flood nodded and watched as the tom caught the rabbit, slightly impressed. She couldn't wait to become a cadet. What would it be like? Flood was a quiet kit, more shy than the others.
[white]"Oh, well, I heard you creep outside, and I wanted to see where you were going .... I feel safe around you Bird.[/white] Flood admitted.[/teal]

Bird laughed. "Well, that's natural, seeing as I'm the only adult in the entire alliance." He set down the rabbit and hastily pawed a hole in the loose, fertile earth to bury the rodent in for later. Delicately, he set it down in the pit and flicked the dirt back over it, patting it down. "There we go."
