Bird finished weaving his own nest, then mewed, "Spirit, I can help you make you make your nest. Here, just cross these brambles with each other." He held out a paw, which was twined with the brambles.

Spirit gave Bird a swift nodd and took the brambles. Spirit started to apply what she had just learned from watching Bird into work. The little white kit had to stop and think then finally finished it, "How is this Bird," Spirit asked with a young high voice.

"Good," he mewed, tone edged with approval. "Now stick the moss in between these little holes in the brambles, and then make sure it makes a cushion."

"Yes Bird," Spirit said taking the moss. She did as she was told and started to fill the holes in the brambles with the green moss. When she was done she tested it out and sure enough it was just right. SPirit turned her ghostly blue eyes to the grey tom, "How is this Bird."

"Good. Try testing it out, to see if it's the right size." He prodded his own nest, checking to see if it was soft enough. Satisfied, he upturned a chunk of soft pine needles and scattered them in the nest. They weren't sharp, luckily.

Spirit stepped into her nest and laid down. It was just right and ever so comfortable. The young kit yawned as she rested her head on her paws.

"Seems it's satisfactory," he mewed, amused. "I'll be hunting," Bird said, stepping from his nest. Silently, he padded across the den floor.

Spirit wanted to chase after the Tom, but she was to tired. Slowly she fell into a deep sleep.

Bird smiled slightly as Spirit drifted off to sleep, then exited the den.
(Meh, I'll make a hunting thread, but I'll timeskip here and pretend it already happened.)
The tom arrived, a few pieces of prey clamped in his jaws. "Anyone hungry?"

Raven had finished making her nest and was lying in it, but she wasn't tired enough to sleep. Her mouth watered at the scent of prey. Her stomach rumbled. She hadn't eaten a good meal in a while. Before she found Bird, she scavenged, eating whatever scrap of meat she could find. She had lost a lot of weight since her fathers death. You could still see her clearly prominent shoulder blades and a few of her ribs. Raven was hungry, no denying it.

Bird dropped the prey to the ground. "Anyone? I'm not going to eat all of this myself," he snorted.

Raven got up from her nest, lazily. She ignored the pain of hunger knotting in her stomach. "I suppose I could eat something." She said. Though she tried to hide it, the hunger for something not days old was strong in her eyes.

Bird nodded. "Very well," he said, seeing the hunger in her eyes. He took a rabbit by the ear and swung it onto the ground next to her. "Eat it while it's still warm." The tom took a vole from his small pile of prey and took a few bites.

Raven tore into the prey. It was delicious. "Thank you." She said quietly. She ate till her stomach was bloated.

"You're welcome," he replied, pushing away the carcass of the vole. "Don't eat up all of our prey stock, though. Others need to eat." The tom sat in his nest with a sigh.
(I'm making this a sub-board.)
